Try aromatherapy around bedtime (especially lavender) - it works to relax you.

Avoid before-bed snacks - including alcohol.
Sleep in complete darkness or as close as possible.
Avoid TV right before bed.

Reduce or avoid as many drugs as possible - no caffeine!
Take a hot bath, shower or sauna before bed.
