Summer Date Night Outfits

Whether it’s a first date or you’re heading out with your long-time love, summertime is date time. The weather is (usually) cooperative, the sunsets are gorgeous and the stars shine bright in the night sky.

Of course, you want to shine as well. Here are some of our best ideas for summertime date outfits.

First Date Fashion Ideas

We all like to make a good first impression. If this is a first or second date, you’ll want to put some extra thought into what you’re wearing.

Jitters can make decision making difficult, so plan your outfit in advance. Check the weather report so you’ll have an idea of what the temperature is going to be like. If there’s a chance of rain, consider carrying a tote that can hold a compact umbrella.

Tunic tops with leggings is one of our favorite first date outfits, particularly if you plan to meet for coffee or a casual meal. Add some jewelry and great shoes for a look that is pulled-together and distinctive.

How to Dress for the Occasion

Of course, it’s also important to dress for the occasion. A skirt
or dress may be more appropriate if you are visiting a fine dining restaurant. Still, there is often plenty of leeway. If you are staying at a beach resort, dresses in light fabrics and tropical prints are entirely appropriate.

On the other hand, afternoon dates that might include a stroll through a park or a visit to a museum require less formal clothing. A pair of nice jeans and a tunic, paired with boots or sandals, can be a great option.

Topping Off The Outfit

Another thing to consider with summer dates is that the temperature can drop as the sun sets. If the weather report predicts a cool evening, take a jacket with you. We particularly like pairing sleeveless women’s dresses with jackets on hot days when nighttime is predicted to become chilly.
