Fall shoes for women are often incredibly versatile. Unlike wintertime, when you have to consider both warmth and safety when walking on icy pavement, and summer, when you are looking for cooling comfort, fall weather is walking weather. This means that just about anything goes when it comes to shoe styles. The trick is finding shoes in colors and materials that complement your fall wardrobe.
Warm-Hued Sandals For Fall
In many areas, warm weather continues well into the last months of the year. Sandals often look and feel great this time of year, particularly when they pick up the colors, textures, and styles of an autumn wardrobe. Consider sandals crafted from tooled leathers or soft suedes with sturdy heels made from warm-toned woods.
Transitional Booties for Transitional Weather
If you’ve been dying to wear your new fall denim, but feel like it’s just a bit too warm for traditional booties, consider purchasing a pair styled for transitional weather. We particularly love booties with cutouts that allow air to circulate around your feet while looking great under bootcut jeans.
Classic Flats Perfect for Fall
While it’s true the classic flats are always appropriate, no matter what the season, they seem to work particularly well and fall as you transition from sandals to cool weather footwear. As with other fall footwear favorites, good flats for fall or often made from heavier materials accented with decorative detailing and embellishments.
Updated Espadrilles and Sneakers
Nothing beats espadrilles or sneakers for all-day comfort, but comfort does not have to equal lack of style. Sneakers, for example, are perfect for walking around town all day or engaging in exercise, but that doesn’t mean that they have to look like they belong in a gym. We particularly like animal print sneakers as well as those made from classic, breathable canvas.
The same goes for espadrilles, which can just as easily take you from the walking track to lunch with friends. While simple designs are versatile and go well with just about anything in your wardrobe, we really like those that feature embroidery and beadwork with a pair of jeans and a long-sleeved T-shirt.
